Robert Murray

Lt. Cmdr. Robert L. Murray joined DARPA as a deputy program manager in August 2024.
His interests include advancing innovation in medical triage, point of injury trauma care, and warfighter performance and protection.
Prior to arriving at DARPA, Murray served as the deputy director of modernization with III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan and is an assistant professor in the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University. Murray is a member of the American Physiological Society and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.
Murray holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology from North Carolina State University, a master’s degree in biology from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and a doctorate in physiology from the University of Maryland. He is a graduate of the Navy Command and Staff College, and his personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
