Matthew Marge

Matthew Marge, PhD, joined DARPA as a program manager in January 2023 to create, execute, and transition programs in artificial intelligence (AI), human-machine interaction, and multi-agent systems.

Marge joins DARPA from the Army Research Laboratory where he was a senior computer scientist. In this role he performed research and led project teams that created dialogue-based interfaces to autonomous systems and decision-theoretic models to maximize learning by AI agents. His research interests include computational linguistics, machine learning, and conversational AI.

He is an adjunct professor of linguistics and computer science at Georgetown University, and author/co-author of over 50 publications.
