Controlling Guam’s Brown Tree Snake Through Advanced Suppression Technology

Creating innovative solutions to control brown tree snakes is essential to addressing significant ecological and economic issues on Guam, where this invasive species has triggered significant declines in native wildlife, plant diversity, and seed dispersal resulting in a wide-spread ecological collapse.

Developing and implementing effective scalable technologies to control brown tree snakes will allow for reintroductions and restoration of Guam’s biodiversity, halt the $4.5 million in annual economic damages caused by snake-induced power grid failures, and build a critical biosecurity shield protecting neighboring Pacific Island economies.
