Victoria Romero

Victoria Romero, Ph.D.,  joined DARPA in September 2023 to develop, execute, and transition programs in cognitive security and the integration of behavioral science into artificial intelligence development and evaluation.

Romero joined DARPA from CACI, where she was chief behavioral scientist and led efforts to develop the company’s advanced science and technology strategy. She has been a principal investigator on numerous U.S. government research, including programs with DARPA, the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity, the Office of Naval Research, and the Air Force Research Laboratory. 

These programs spanned a range of applications of behavioral science to national security, including human-machine teaming, counter-insurgency, cognitive security, neurological bases of behavior, sociocultural systems, and advanced research evaluation.

She is a member of the Information Professionals Association and the Association for Psychological Science.
