Tactical Technology Office
Micah Howard, Ph.D., joined DARPA in October 2025 as a program manager in the Tactical Technology Office. Areas of expertise include advanced strategic weapons, hypersonics, aerothermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, and defense acquisition.
Prior to joining DARPA, Howard was at the Pentagon serving as operations research analyst for the Office of the Secretary of Defense — Cost Assessment & Program Evaluation; his preceding role was as special scientific advisor to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD R&E). He spent twelve years on staff at Sandia National Laboratories, focused primarily on hypersonics.
