Lun Chan, Ph.D., joined DARPA in July 2025 and has subject matter expertise centers on applying the knowledge of corrosion science, metallurgy, and electrochemistry to understand and mitigate materials failure in extreme aerospace, energy, nuclear (e.g. molten salt, liquid metal, pressurized water reactors (PWR)), and electronic environments.

He was a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellow and a rising leader recognized by several materials engineering societies, including the American Society of Metals (ASM) International; Association of Materials Performance and Protection (AMPP); the Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS); the Electrochemical Society (ECS); and the Electronic Device Failure Analysis Society (EDFAS).
