John S. Paschkewitz

Strategic Technology Office

John S. Paschkewitz, PhD, joined DARPA as director of the Strategic Technology Office in June 2025.

Paschkewitz served as a  DARPA program manager in the Defense Sciences and Strategic Technology offices from 2015-2021, with a diverse portfolio spanning operations research, materials science & manufacturing, human-machine teaming, and complex systems. He played a leading role in the development of DARPA’s Mosaic Warfare concept and led pioneering investments in resilient logistics and in AI for economics.

Before returning to DARPA, he was a partner & associate director at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), providing strategic guidance to senior business leaders on frontier technologies, implementation of AI in research and development (R&D), and accelerated product development. 

John has over 25 years of exceptionally broad experience in R&D and “first to world” product design spanning startups, national and military labs, and corporate research.
