Strategic Technology Office
Adam Bryant, Ph.D., joined DARPA as deputy director of the Strategic Technology Office in January 2026.
Bryant served as a DARPA program manager in the Strategic Technology Office from 2019-2023, where he conceived, initiated, and led research programs focused on radar remote sensing, including Moving Target Recognition (MTR) and Distributed Radar Image Formation Technology (DRIFT).
Prior to rejoining DARPA, Bryant worked at the Space Development Agency as the technical director for a space-based sensing capability. There he developed system requirements and led modeling and simulation to inform relevant satellite constellation architectures and capabilities.
Bryant was a physicist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), where he carried out research and development in maritime remote sensing, undersea warfare, and space programs.
Prior to APL, Bryant was a scientist at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), where he led research projects on advanced radar imaging. Previously, he performed advanced exploitation for NGA analysis.
