HOTS: High Operational Temperature Sensors

Summary

The High Operational Temperature Sensors (HOTS) program seeks to develop advanced sensor technologies capable of enduring extreme temperatures in demanding operational environments.

Conventional sensors struggle in high-temperature settings, with limited performance and longevity in critical aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.

The HOTS program aims to overcome these limitations by advancing high-temperature materials and innovative design techniques to realize sensors that maintain accuracy, bandwidth, and durability at temperatures beyond the melting point of aluminum.

Ultimately, this will enhance data reliability and operational resilience in extreme-environment platforms like jet engines and spacecraft, contributing to the mission success of U.S. defense and aerospace systems.
