Mr. Tristan Tager joined DARPA in July 2024 as a program manager in the Strategic Technology Office. His research interest areas include foundational and next-gen artificial intelligence (AI), complexity theory, systems theory, theoretical mathematics and physics, applied psychology, and more.
Prior to DARPA, Tager was a co-founder and chief scientist at Modern Intelligence, where he led engineering and research teams in developing multimodal computer perception systems for Department of Defense applications. Previously, he was lead AI research scientist at Genentech, where he and his team applied AI to multiple facets of drug discovery, ranging from cancer detection and analysis to automating various components of the clinical trial process.
Tager received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Duke University.
