Colonel Rob Gerbracht joined DARPA as a special assistant to the director and U.S. Marine Corps operational liaison in 2024.
Gerbracht's operational experience includes deployments as a combat engineer officer supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and Operation TOMODACHI. He also served as a Marine Air Ground Task Force planner with U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command in support of Operations INHERENT RESOLVE and FREEDOM'S SENTINEL. Gerbracht later commanded 8th Engineer Support Battalion and was subsequently assigned to the Commandant of the Marine Corps Strategist Program.
Gerbracht holds a doctorate in international affairs from Johns Hopkins University and master's degrees in anthropology, international relations, and operational studies.
He first served with DARPA in 2018 as a Service Chiefs Fellow.
