Program Manager
Strategic Technology Office
Dr. Nicholas Chang joined DARPA in September 2023 as a program manager in the Strategic Technology Office. His research interests include advanced wireless and multi-function systems using novel techniques and concepts in signal processing, artificial intelligence, open architecture, control theory, and distributed processing.
Prior to DARPA, Dr. Chang was a director at Peraton Labs in the Wireless Networks and Systems department. He led multiple programs in multi-function and distributed resource management, signals intelligence, wireless communications, radio frequency machine learning, and multiple-antenna processing. Before that, he was a technical staff member in the Advanced Sensor Techniques Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where he led the development and implementation of novel wireless communications and signal processing systems.
Dr. Chang received the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University. He also received the Master of Science in Engineering degree in electrical engineering, a master’s degree in mathematics, and a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
