Dr. Michael Feasel joined DARPA in August 2022 as a program manager in the Biological Technologies Office (BTO). His research interests include molecular toxicology, chemical/biological threat agent detection, and pharmaceutical science.
Prior to joining DARPA, Feasel served in multiple toxicology roles at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center. As part of the Threat Agent Sciences division, he provided toxicological data and information on chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threat materials to Defense Department (DOD) and non-DOD support organizations for the purposes of collective and personal protection, detection, decontamination, and operational planning.
Feasel received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin and a doctorate in toxicology from the University of Maryland Baltimore. Feasel has also published several peer-reviewed articles and was selected by the American Chemical Society as one of 2017’s “C&EN’s Talented Twelve” for leadership in the field, and is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Society of Toxicology, The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and the National Science Foundation.
