Col. John “Venkman” Casey (USAF) joined DARPA in June 2023 as a program manager in the Tactical Technology Office. His areas of interest include next-generation aerospace vehicle concepts, flight test, survivability, lethality, and concepts to affordably deliver capabilities by disrupting traditional cost and schedule paradigms.
Prior to joining DARPA, Casey was a student at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. Prior to that assignment, he has served as a Flight Test Engineer over several assignments, in multiple roles as project engineer, staff officer, chief engineer, chief of test safety, flight test squadron commander, and director of test engineering supporting research and development efforts, system requirements definition, and test activities.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in aeronautical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master of Science in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science in flight test engineering from the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School. He is also a distinguished graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.
