Dr. Frank Robey joined DARPA in May 2022 as a program manager in the Strategic Technology Office. His research interests are in the advancement of sensor systems and capabilities using signal processing techniques based on a firm theoretical foundation.

Robey is on assignment from MIT Lincoln Laboratory where he was an associate group leader in the Advanced Technology Division. He led programs in novel antenna, radar, electronic support, and space-based sensors. These programs included mission applications of various RF sensors as well as scientific investigations of high-frequency radio propagation and environmental noise in the terrestrial and near-earth environments.

Robey received a doctorate degree in electrical engineering from Washington University, St. Louis, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri Columbia. He is a fellow of the IEEE for leadership in the development of advanced radar systems.
