Christopher Bettinger, PhD, joined DARPA in August 2022 as a program manager in the Biological Technologies Office. He is broadly interested in applying bioelectronics and cellular engineering to create new technologies that monitor and improve warfighter performance.
Bettinger serves as a Full Professor in the departments of Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His research team works at the interface of polymer science and microfabrication to design and create novel bioelectronic medical devices.
He completed an NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein post-doctoral fellowship in chemical engineering at Stanford University. Bettinger is a co-inventor on over a dozen issued patents and has received many honors including the DARPA Young Faculty Award.
