Sept. 22, 2026
The DARPA Surgical Competition (DSC) seeks to establish the state of the art for open, robotic trauma surgery and identify emerging technologies for autonomous surgical assistance. The primary objective is to develop a scalable trauma surgical robotics platform capable of safely and collaboratively assisting human surgeons, while rapidly learning new capabilities to perform independent surgical procedures.
To support this effort, the Biological Technologies Office (BTO) will host a hybrid Industry Day for potential competitors to introduce the program vision, respond to questions, and facilitate teaming through lightning talks and teaming profiles across three evaluation phases: Component Gates, Surgical Collaboration, and Surgical Independence.
The Industry Day will take place on Sept. 22, 2026, from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET, in Arlington, Virginia, with a virtual attendance option.
Capacity is limited to 70 in-person and 1,000 virtual attendees; maximum two representatives per organization. Non-U.S. citizens must submit DARPA Form 60 or an Official Visit Request by Sept. 11, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET.
Registration closes on Sept. 16, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET.
