Mr. Jason Preisser started his 25-year career as an officer in the United States Air Force where he held a variety of positions in contracting, program management, and financial management and space operations from 1993 until 2015. He served as the commander, Defense Contract Management Agency, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems from 2008-2011 where he led an office of 59 multi-service officers/civilians performing contract administration and quality assurance oversight.
As the DARPA program director, Small Business Programs Office, and SBIR/STTR program manager Preisser is focused on creating an environment that considers small business concerns a primary source of innovative solutions. Chief among his responsibilities is expanding small business relationships and training opportunities within DoD and other federal agencies; and enabling the small business community to create and transition radical, game-changing technologies that benefit the warfighter, federal government, and commercial marketplace.
In addition to serving as the program director, Preisser is also the assistant director, program management (ADPM) for the Mission Services Office, Adaptive Capabilities Office, and Aerospace Projects Office. As the ADPM, he is responsible for contract management, budget planning, and financial oversight as well as cross directorate integration. Preisser also supports the DARPA senior services manager in the review, validation, approval, tracking, and reporting of DARPA service contract requirements. Preisser holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and Masters of Business Administration from Chapman University.
