DARPA sponsors fundamental and applied research in a variety of areas that may lead to experimental results and reusable technology of benefit to multiple governmental and nongovernmental entities. The DARPA Open Catalog is a public web portal that organizes and shares the publicly releasable results of DARPA research in the form of software, peer-reviewed publications, data and experimental details. The Catalog is available at http://opencatalog.darpa.mil/.
DARPA launched the Open Catalog in February 2014 to complement other open-government initiatives and support the Agency’s strategy to help increase the impact of government investments and build communities around government-funded research.
Recognizing the value of DARPA’s efforts to make its research findings more publicly accessible, the Defense Department selected DARPA’s Open Catalog as one of two flagship initiatives under the Department’s Open Government Plan for 2014.
