Special Assistant to the Director, U.S. Air Force Operational Liaison
Colonel Ronald Gilbert joined DARPA as the U.S. Air Force operational liaison in 2019. He previously served as the Vice Commander, 57th Wing, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, where he was second-in-command for 37 squadrons, more than 3,300 personnel, and 150 combat aircraft spread across 11 geographically separated installations.

Captain Daniel Brunk joined DARPA as the U.S. Navy operational liaison in 2017. He previously served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Operations and Plans Division as the Ocean Systems and Nuclear Matters branch head.

Dr. Peter Erbland joined DARPA as a program manager in February 2013. Currently, he focuses on advanced hypersonic systems and technologies including hypersonic aerodynamics and aerothermodynamics, structures and materials, and guidance, navigation and control, as well as basic and applied research in fluid mechanics, laser-based optical diagnostic techniques and numerical modeling.
