Dr. Whitney Mason joined DARPA as a Program Manager in the Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) in November 2017. Her research interests are in imaging sensors that provide multi-function capability.

Mr. Chris Simi joined DARPA as a program manager in the Strategic Technology Office in September 2018. Prior to DARPA, Simi spent 15 years in the research office of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA). At NGA, Mr. Simi served as the senior scientist for remote sensing, developing a large variety of advanced electro-optic systems and concepts.
DARPA MTO is soliciting research and development proposals for the FOcal arrays for Curved Infrared Imagers (FOCII) program to 1) curve existing state of the art large area (= 55mm diagonal), high resolution, state of the art cryogenically cooled mid- and/or longwave infrared focal plane arrays to a spherical radius of curvature of 70mm, and 2) curve smaller arrays (35mm diagonal) to an extreme 12.5mm spherical radius of curvature.
The Semantic Forensics (SemaFor) program will develop technologies to automatically detect, attribute, and characterize falsified multi-modal media assets (text, audio, image, video) to defend against large-scale, automated disinformation attacks.
