Dr. John Everett is the deputy director of DARPA's Information Innovation Office (I2O).
Dr. Everett joined DARPA in February 2014 as a program manager. His research interests include cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. He started the Cyber Fault-tolerant Attack Recovery (CFAR) program in 2014, which is developing automated software rewriting techniques to protect legacy systems. In 2015, he started the Rapid Attack Detection, Isolation and Characterization Systems (RADICS) program to research technologies for detection of and recovery from a nation-state cyber-enabled attack on the US power grid.
Prior to DARPA, Dr. Everett led R&D groups at Raytheon BBN Technologies, BAE Systems Advanced Information Technologies, and Xerox PARC in the areas of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Dr. Everett holds a doctorate in artificial intelligence from Northwestern University, a Master of Management degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
