More than 480 teams from academia, startups, small businesses, and independent inventors across the U.S. and around the globe applied to compete in the Lift Challenge. Of those, over 100 teams received and accepted invitations after completing the required milestones, including a concept paper, evidence of progress, and proof of compliance with FAA regulations.
