Dion Fralick
Program Manager
Tactical Technology Office
Mr. Dion Fralick joined DARPA in January 2023 as a program manager in the Tactical Technology Office. He has a diverse background in aircraft and space flight testing activities. His research interests include novel aircraft survivability technologies, development of unique electromagnetic measurement and sensing capabilities, development and application of computational tools, and application of new technologies to military systems.
Prior to joining DARPA, Fralick served as the advanced technology investment area (ATIA) manager for a small program office within NASA’s Advanced Air Vehicle Directorate. He was responsible for directing and managing a portfolio of ATIA efforts ranging from high-risk, fledging technology development to demonstrations and flight research activities.
Prior to serving as the ATIA manager, Fralick served as a technology development lead within the Electromagnetics and Sensors Research Branch at NASA’s Langley Research Center. His work there included development of unique electromagnetic measurement capabilities to characterize technology advances, as well as development and transition of computational tools to effectively and efficiently predict technology performance.
Fralick received his commission as an Air Force officer in 1983. He earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering under an Air Force Institute of Technology scholarship at Ohio University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and computer engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
