The Adaptive Execution Office (AEO) was created to accelerate the transition of game-changing DARPA technologies to the Department of Defense, other Federal departments and agencies and private-sector partners. AEO maintains robust relationships with the full range of potential end users of DARPA-supported technologies, and assists DARPA program managers with the planning and execution of demonstrations and field trials to promote technology transition to warfighters and others.
AEO further raises awareness of DARPA’s work among the military Services through the Service Chiefs Fellows Program. This quarterly, three-month fellowship orientation program provides participants with insights into cutting-edge technologies at various stages of development and helps the Agency and its program managers stay abreast of Service operations and needs.
As part of its mission, AEO runs a “PM Boot Camp” for DARPA program managers to help build relationships with the military Services.
