Defense Advanced Research Projects AgencyWork With UsOpportunities

Opportunities

Established in 1958 as part of the U.S. Department of Defense, DARPA pursues opportunities for transformational change rather than incremental advances. It does so collaboratively as part of a robust innovation ecosystem that includes academic, corporate, and governmental partners. To fulfill its mission, the Agency relies on diverse performers from throughout this ecosystem to apply multi-disciplinary approaches to both advance knowledge through basic research and create innovative technologies that address current practical problems through applied research. The list of selected opportunities displayed below is provided for convenience. For a complete listing of DARPA opportunities please visit the FedBizOpps website. More

2/11/2016
Rapid Attack Detection, Isolation and Characterization Systems (RADICS)
I2O
DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals to develop technologies for detecting and recovering from cyber-attacks on US critical infrastructure. DARPA is interested specifically in early attack detection, network isolation and threat characterization in response to a widespread and persistent cyber-attack on the power grid and its dependent systems.
2/16/2016
Modular Optical Aperture Building Blocks (MOABB)
MTO
DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals for integrated free-space optical systems. The MOABB program seeks to demonstrate a modular architecture that will co-integrate an optical aperture, non-mechanical beam steering and the associated optics and control electronics onto a planar semiconductor substrate. The capability of this technology will then be demonstrated in a packaged LIDAR system.
2/17/2016
Signal Processing At RF (SPAR) Proposers Day
MTO
The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on the SPAR program, promote additional discussion on this topic, address questions from potential proposers, and provide an opportunity for potential proposers to share their capabilities and ideas for teaming arrangements. DARPA-BAA-16-20 is expected to be released prior to the Proposers Day.
3/15/2016
Mobile Offboard Command and Control and Approach (MOCCA)
STO
The Mobile Off-board Clandestine Communications and Approach (MOCCA) program seeks to develop and demonstrate new, non-traditional submarine sonar concepts and technologies.
3/29/2016
Fundamental Limits of Photon Detection (Detect)
DSO
The Defense Sciences Office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of photon detection. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in the modeling and fabrication of photon detectors. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.
4/1/2016
Open Ocean Counter Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (OOCUUV) Study
TTO
This Special Notice describes a research thrust, entitled "Open Ocean Counter Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (OOCUUV) Study," to be launched under the current DARPA TTO Office Wide Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), DARPA-BAA-15-27, entitled "Innovative Systems for Military Missions," which can be found at https://www.fbo.gov/spg/ODA/DARPA/CMO/DARPA-BAA-15-27/listing.html.
4/14/2016
Neural Engineering System Design
BTO
DARPA seeks proposals to design, build, demonstrate, and validate a neural interface platform capable of recording from more than 1,000,000 neurons and stimulating more than 100,000 neurons in proposer-defined regions of the human auditory, visual and somatosensory cortex. The complete system must demonstrate high-precision detection, transduction, and encoding of neural activity.
4/27/2016
Innovative Systems for Military Missions
TTO
The Tactical Technology Office (TTO) of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting executive summaries, white papers and proposals for advanced research, development and demonstration of innovative systems for military missions. This solicitation seeks system and subsystem level technologies that enable revolutionary improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the military. Novel concepts are sought in the following focus areas: Ground Systems, Maritime Systems, Air Systems, and Space Systems.
