Theoretical Foundations for the Design of Collective Human-Machine Systems

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is requesting information concerning research related to foundational, quantitative theories for the analysis and design of human-machine systems, with a focus on collectives of humans and machines ranging in number from 5 to 100, as well as novel testing capabilities for assessing the value of these abstractions or theories using experimental verification across multiple problem domains.

Signal Processing at RF (SPAR)

DARPA seeks to transform radio frequency (RF) systems by developing RF analog signal processing and nonreciprocal technologies that perform unprecedented levels of in-band interference suppression. The Signal Processing at RF (SPAR) technology must mitigate both self and externally generated interfering signals of known and unknown characteristics. Performers will be expected to demonstrate novel in-band signal interference mitigation technologies using analog signal processing techniques as well as novel chip-scale circulator approaches.

Controlled Entry of LEO Objects Workshop

The objective of the workshop is to gather information regarding (1) near-term technologies and solutions for the controlled reentry of objects from low Earth orbit (LEO) and (2) long-term advanced concepts that could evolve from near-term capabilities. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Improv program is soliciting innovative research proposals for prototype products and systems that have the potential to threaten current military operations, equipment, or personnel and are assembled primarily from commercially available technology.

Targeted Neuroplasticity Training
BTO
DARPA seeks innovative proposals to develop technology for enhancing cognitive skill learning in healthy adults by using noninvasive peripheral neurostimulation to promote synaptic plasticity in the brain. The Targeted Neuroplasticity Training (TNT) program will elucidate the anatomical and functional map of the underlying neural circuity involved in regulating synaptic plasticity. The program seeks to demonstrate peripheral modulation of the neural circuit, connect neuroplasticity with cognitive improvements, and optimize intervention protocols for long term retention with no side effects.

The goal of the Enhanced Attribution (EA) program is to develop technologies for generating operationally and tactically relevant information about multiple concurrent independent malicious cyber campaigns, each involving several operators; and the means to share such information with any of a number of interested parties without putting at risk the sources and methods used for collection. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems.
