LTC Nathan Wiedenman, Ph.D., USA, joined DARPA in September 2010 as a Program Manager in the Tactical Technology Office. Prior to joining DARPA, he served in Afghanistan as the Science and Technology Advisor to Combined Joint Task Force 82 and Regional Command East. He is an armor officer, serving in and commanding units equipped with several variants of the M1 Abrams main battle tank. 

LTC Wiedenman’s interests lie in the fields of advanced/multi-functional materials, advanced ground vehicle concepts, and adaptive manufacturing processes. He earned his Bachelor of Science in engineering from Harvey Mudd College, his Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and his Doctor of Philosophy in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
