Commander Matt Rising, USN, joined DARPA in October, 2010 as AEO’s naval systems liaison and program manager.  A Naval Aviator and graduate of the U.S. Navy Test Pilot School, Cmdr. Rising’s Fleet experience includes two operational tours in H-53E helicopters; a Western Pacific deployment as Air Boss on an LPD-class ship; and Chief Operational Test Director for the MV-22B Osprey with VMX-22 in New River, NC.  He also served as a developmental test and evaluation pilot in the H-53 and as Project Manager for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Biological Threat Reduction Program in Armenia.    

Cmdr. Rising holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
